Call for ‘Convince us’ sessions – ECPR Winter School 2018
Thursday, 8 March 2018, 12.45 – 13.45
Are you registered for an ECPR Winter School course?
Are you a mid- or late stage doctoral candidate or early post-doc?
Are you keen on getting feedback on your work?
Then consider presenting your research at the “Convince us” sessions on Thursday, 8 March 2018, at lunch time!
The ‘Convince us’ sessions are parallel interactive workshops in which PhD candidates and junior scholars have the opportunity to present their work to an audience of Winter School participants and instructors and receive feedback from a designated discussant (usually a Winter School instructor).
We especially invite presentations on methodological issues, or focusing on the methodological aspects of the thesis. Your paper can be the first draft of a journal article or a thesis chapter, for instance. The written papers (max. 15-20 pages) should be submitted 3 weeks ahead of the WSMT 2018. Your oral presentation should not be longer than 10 minutes.
The workshops are open to any kind of methodological approach.
The presentations will take place in a friendly and supportive atmosphere with the goal of helping the presenters strengthen their argument.
The ECPR ‘Convince us sessions’ are endorsed and organised by the ECPR Standing Group on Political Methodology (SGPM).
Then send a completed application form to: email@example.com
Deadline for applications: Friday, 19 January 2018
Deadline for the papers (of the accepted presenters): Monday 12 February 2018.
If you are in doubt whether your idea fits the workshop, email us at the same address and we (Lea Sgier, University of Geneva, and Kathrin Thomas, City, University of London, co-convenors of the SGPM) will get back to you!
All Winter School participants and instructors are warmly invited to attend the workshops without prior registration. Feel free to bring along your lunch.
